As a kid, I was endlessly curious about electronics and computers. I took things apart just to see how they worked. My first lines of code were written at seven on a Commodore 64 — and I’ve been building ever since.

Combining two worlds

What if medicine could benefit from computer science? With one foot in medicine and the other in tech, I started seeing the gaps — and the possibilities. What if the same logic and automation from computers could streamline healthcare and save lives?
Frustrated by outdated tools

In the ER, I worked under pressure — where every second mattered. But I was stuck using slow, manual tools. It became clear: this system wasn’t just inconvenient. It was a barrier to better care.
Big question that sparked everything

Vital signs are the foundation of triage, yet we were using outdated methods. I started asking: could we make this faster, contactless, and smart? That single question sparked a journey I never expected.
Proof of concept moment

I drew a simple cartoon of a kiosk that could scan patients’ vitals automatically. It wasn’t high-tech — but it made people pause, think, and talk. That sketch became the seed for what would grow next.
The search for the right co-founder

I asked everyone I knew. I searched in tech circles and medical networks. Nothing. I almost gave up — until one call changed everything. Someone knew someone. That “maybe” turned into something real.
The perfect match

That someone was Taha Khan — a researcher who knew AI and shared the same drive. From the first conversations, it clicked. We weren’t just building tech — we were solving a problem we both cared about.
Turning vision into reality

After months of prototypes, testing, and doubt, we launched Detectivio. What began as a sketch became a real product. And a company focused on changing how we care — starting at the very first vital signs.
